Before the game, Meghan and I went to Target and ran into Darwin Barney!
Here I am hanging out with Billy Williams. No one's going to take away my happiness!
On the way in, we met Chase D'Arnaud. What a fox.
It was a really warm day, but here's Ho Pun wearing a large winter jacket. We laughed then, but we would wish for warmth later.
Angela arrived, and we showed her what Darwin wrote to her: "You should have quit school and seen me." She is his favorite fan.
Good times inside the park.
Blake Parker
Chase
Here's Angela and equipment boy Danny
Here's Deeana Sosa, one of my twitter friends. Got to meet her for the first time.
Nick Parsons came to the game, too, so the four of us waited out the FOUR HOUR rain delay. P.S., I did not choose this hat--I stole it from Nick to help my hair.
During the rain delay, who did I run into? Lance Lipinsky from Million Dollar Quartet!!!!!!
Then there was more general tomfoolery.
We snuck down and said hi to Michael Bowden.
And we also said hi to Jaye Chapman
Then Meghan and I took a great picture.
The game finally got underway around 11.
Awesome Travis Wood was on the mound.
The Pirates scored three in the top of the third. Here's Andrew McCutchen. He walked.
Travis
Darwin
Brett Jackson
My favorite usher Danny gave me his poncho. Also, we were front row third base side, back with my people!
Here's Brett Jackson after his walk and a Darwin Barney single.
He got to third on a Travis Wood double play ball and that was it.
Lester Strode, pitching coach, came over and gave me and Angela Tootsie Pops. He loves us.
Travis Wood pitched a fine game.
And Anthony Recker is a fine man.
Here's Andrew McCutchen on base again after he was hit by a pitch.
Here's Anthony Recker again. He could just become a model if baseball doesn't work out, but I'm pretty sure baseball is going to work out.
Andrew advancing to third on a McKenry single.
Michael Bowden was brought in to relieve Travis Wood.
Darwin Barney singled in the sixth.
Here's the Cubs band playing for no one because no one was there anymore, except for this Sox fan in the bottom right corner.
Here's Nick with the ball Angela caught or was thrown. I think Darwin threw it to her.
Guess the attendance? I'm sure that was a skewed number. Here we are in the eighth inning and it's 1:05 a.m.
Bryan LaHair came in to cheer me up in the eighth, but he struck out.
Here's Rafael Dolis to pitch the ninth.
Starlin
And the game ends, Pirates winning 3-0. And it's 1:30 in the morning. And it will be 3 a.m. before I am home, and I have to wake up at 5 for work.
Still fun.
