Game #43, Nationals at Brewers, 7/28/12

After Amber and I left Wrigley, we set off for Milwaukee on our quest to do the unthinkable--two different ball games at two different parks in one day. And we succeeded.

First we met Edwin Jackson, an old favorite of mine from his Sox days. UPDATE: He is now a CUBBBB!!!!!

My first Bryce Harper photo. He's in the background. He was sick and therefore not playing, but he was still taking BP.

Jonathan Lucroy

There he is. Oh. My. Goodness. It's like an illusion. I had been following this guy's career since he was a Sports Illustrated cover boy in high school.

Stephen Strasburg, another guy I want to meet someday.

Back to Bryce.

I was already a Nationals fan, but now I was overboard with my love. Amber became a fan, a very fervent fan, that day.

Clown question.

Today, the teams were honoring the Negro leagues and wore Negro League uniforms. Several players from the Negro Leagues were there.

Tonight's matchup was Jordan Zimmerman v. Randy Wolf. Also, how cool are these unis?

Yayyyyy Ryan Braun!

What a smile! P.S. I love our seats. These were pretty much where Angela and I had sat for one of the Brewers-Cubs games.

Okay--I am POSITIVE I took a picture of Corey Brown's first career homer in the top of the fourth. But my memory card erased a ton of photos. Amber and I decided we were fans of his. It turns out that one of my favorite players on a pro team here in Gary, Chris "Goose" Carrara, is friends with him and enjoyed the pictures I took of Corey at this game. Moore also hit a two-run homer. Nationals were up 3-1.

Aramis doubled in the bottom of the fourth.

Corey Hart grounded out to move Aramis to third.

Rickie Weeks singled, driving in Ramirez.

Look how much fun.

My favorite usher. If he only knew how much I talk about him here....

Ryan is so nice. Here are some pictures of his OCD.

Ryan Zimmerman homered in the top of the fifth.

More Ryan Braun photos....

And the Sausage Race

Bryce Harper peered out of the dugout.

Well, well, well, if it isn't ex-Cub Mark De Rosa.

Corey Brown

The 7th inning stretch, which of course at Miller Park includes "Roll Out the Barrel."

We were having fun.

Rickie Weeks was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the 7th.

Bryce.

Jonathan Lucroy pinch hit, but he lined out.

Bryce Harper. Our seats really worked out. I wanted to get seats by Bryce Harper one night and Ryan Braun the other. I picked the right night to be by Ryan.

Speaking of Ryan, he singled in the bottom of the eighth, but to no avail.

This guy was a huge Michael Morse fan and wanted to get attention from the Beast. He eventually did.

Here's my buddy Kameron Loe, on to pitch the ninth.

Tyler Clippard came on to pitch in the bottom of the ninth for the Nats, and that was that. Nationals win 4-1.

Here's the hero of the day, Corey Brown, being interviewed.

We got to meet some of the Negro League players at the game. Such an honor.
