Game #34, Blue Jays v. White Sox 7/7/12

I want to start this out by saying that my biggest regret is that I did not meet J.P. Arencibia. The more I follow him on twitter, the more I like him as a person, and I already knew he was an incredible ballplayer.

Oh, and I was also sad I didn't get to say hi to Omar Vizquel. I missed him from his time on the White Sox. He was one of the very very fan-friendly players.

But this is not a game for regrets, because I finally met my favorite childhood player.

But first.. here is Kevin Youkilis signing away.

And here is Robin Ventura. He is just so wonderful.

Gordon Beckham signed

Paul Konerko signed

Alexei Ramirez signed

And here he is. Robin Mark Ventura, my all-time favorite player.

This is him handing the ball back to me. I couldn't really talk to him. He always makes me cry. He was such an important part of who I am as a person and as a baseball player...I am getting teary now as I write it.

The pen I handed him was out of ink, so he signed with a Sharpie. Young people, do not get balls autographed with a Sharpie. It smears and fades and is not pretty. But who cares? I met him.

My loot from the day--a bunch of autographs and an Alexei Ramirez bobblehead

Angela got to meet J.P. I am so jelllllly.

Here's Jose Bautista. Everyone wanted to meet him.

Addison Reed had been working hard lately. He got the day off.

Adam Dunn singled in the second.

But Konerko struck out, so that was that.

Besides being first in their division, they have several leading the league in different categories. Alex Rios leads in triples.

Ricky Romero and Gavin Floyd both dueled it out on the mound.

Here's A.J. in the fourth inning. He was hit by a pitch.

It was Orgullo Sox day, which means Hispanic Appreciation, I think.

In the fifth inning, with Ramirez on base, Youk homered.

Gavin Floyd

Ricky Romero

The two continued to battle.

JP got a hit in the sixth, but other than that, his bat was silent.

Addison got the day off, so Thornton came in to finish up the game with two out in the bottom of the eighth.

This guy is pumped.

Reed doesn't know what to do with his time.

In the bottom of the ninth, Bautista made it interesting with a double, but he was called out trying to make it a triple.

The Sox won, 2-0.
