Game # 32 Texas Rangers at White Sox 7/3/12

I always try to go see the Rangers when they're in town. They're one of my favorite teams. I even drove to Detroit to see them when I couldn't get to Chicago when they were in town.

Josh Hamilton is just the best.

But I love many of them. A lot of them came over to sign. David Murphy is another one of my favorites.

Well, Josh came over, and he signed for like a million people. He always does, as long as people are polite.

He signed my tshirt.

It was Polish appreciation night or something like that.

Here's Youkilis, warming up. The Sox fans have sure warmed to him.

Starting lineups.

Gordon Beckham signing, of course.

Chris Sale, being a boss. He walked Josh Hamilton in the top of the first, but it's Josh Hamilton. I mean, the guy's gonna get on base. Nothing else happened.

There were many runs scored in this game. Many.

DeAza led off the bottom of the first with a single.

Youkilis then homered.

Then Adam Dunn homered.

Here's Josh Hamilton, waiting for a chance to field.

Then Alex Rios homered.

In the bottom of the second, De Aza tripled.

Youkilis singled to drive in De Aza.

Dunn doubled to drive in Youk.

The players conferred on the mound about the Sox offense. There's Elvis Andrus, who I enjoy.

Konerko singled to drive in Dunn. Sox left the second ahead 7-0.

They also made some great catches in the field.

In the bottom of the third, Ramirez doubled, but no one scored.

Matt Thornton showed off his clean-cut look

We talked about Robin Ventura

An umpire got hit in the head.

He's fine.

In the the top of the fourth, Hamilton singled.

The refs discussed whether or not it was unfair to allow Josh to play when he has superhuman powers.

Robin Ventura didn't think it was fair to let Josh play.

Meanwhile, we enjoyed Pierogis.

In the bottom of the fifth, with Rios on third and Viciedo on second, Ramirez singled to drive them home. 7-0.

De Aza reached on a fielder's choice, and Ramirez stayed on because of an error.

Something had to change.

Here's Youk. He singled, driving in Ramirez, and reached second on an error.

Adam Dunn was intentionally walked because pitchers enjoy facing Konerko. Konerko singled, driving in a run. Then Rios singled, driving in two runs.

Then Pierzynski, who had been snubbed by the Rangers manager Ron Washington and not chosen for the All-Star team, homered.

White Sox lead 16-0.

In the top of the sixth, the Rangers struggled to do something against Chris Sale. Ian Kinsler singled, then advanced to second on a wild pitch. You can't count the Rangers out, even down so low. But nothing happened.

Also, Josh Hamilton is awesome.

In the top of the seventh, the game became a high school washout where the second-stringers are put in. Just kidding--I love the second stringers. But there were mass substitutions.

Eduardo Escobar at third.

Orlando Hudson at second.

Kevin Youkilis moved to third.

Jordan Danks in right field.

Also, this is a cool shirt if you like Hawkisms. If you don't, it will probably annoy you as much as Hawk does.

I like to keep an eye on how Trevor Plouffe is doing.

And how the Cubs are doing.

In the bottom of the 7th, Tyler Flowers hit for Dunn and walked.

Escobar doubled.

Danks hit a sacrifice fly, driving in Flowers.

The score, as you can see behind the foul pole, is now 19-0.

With one out and Mike Napoli on in the top of the eighth, Chris Sale departed to a wild ovation. His shutout, 7 1/3 inning performance could have been ignored thanks to a rocking defense, but it wasn't. We love him.

Brian Omogrosso came on.

Craig Gentry doubled, then Elvis Andrus drove both him and Napoli in with a double. 19-2 White Sox.

Then in the ninth, the Rangers made one more effort. With Brandon Snyder on, David Murphy singled.

But the Sox won, 19-2.
