Game # 8 Cubs v. Dodgers 5/5/12

Ah, the Dodgers. They say the Dodgers are the Yankees of the West, and I am starting to believe it. Angela loves the Dodgers--I think they're her second favorite team. I love Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, Clayton Kershaw--man, they have a great team. But the neighborhood always gets involved in trash talking.

I got to the game a little early to try to meet Matt Kemp. That did not work--he was way early. But I did get to meet Andre Ethier, which was awesome. I also admired the new poster of Steve Clevenger.

I met this Dodger also. I wish I remember who this was. I will look it up and edit this post and look less like a weirdo. It's something Kennedy, I think.

Once inside, I headed to the Dodgers' side and admired Ted Lilly. I LOVE TED LILLY. There. I said it. I was heartbroken when the Cubs traded him a few years back.

Clayton Kershaw was throwing in the bullpen. What a man. He did not come over and sign, though.

Matt Kemp is a beautiful, amazing specimen. I had been following his tweets and his proclamation that he would be in beast mode this year.

I stood near where he was throwing and a ball wayward ball almost hit me, but Matt made a diving catch. I said, "Why did you do that??? I wanted to be hit by that ball."

He said, "No you don't! That would hurt like %$#*! I just saved your life, young lady." I have savored those words.

I met up with Darwin Barney.

Angela and Darwin. I will always be at most number 2 to him.
The DR bunch. They stick together. Starlin, Soriano, and Wellington Castillo.

Oh, Michael Bowden. You are so, so nice.

 Some Cubs warming up.
Roberto Garza threw out the first pitch.

David DeJesus. Savor this.

Matt Kemp is just amazing. He did not put on a show for us, but we later found out he was injured.

I also met up with Jerry Hairston, Jr. I met him last year when he was on the Brewers. He always remembers me.

 Andre Ethier. Magnificent.

As the game wore on and the Dodgers kept scoring, and we did not, I entertained myself by creeping on the Cubs dugout.

I also enjoyed the sights at beautiful Wrigley.
Chris Volstad may not have had his best stuff, but it isn't as if the Cubs hit behind him much.
 Ian Stewart

This guy was sitting in front of me. I have to say--this is commitment to Nascar.

 Bryan LaHair and Darwin Barney.

 Don Mattingly argued.
I love when Tony Campana gets in a game. He finds a way to reach base, and once he's on, he's going to entertain.

When Carlos Marmol gets in, you never know what will happen either. But in a different, much worse way.

But when Michael Bowden gets in, I smile broadly.
Starlin Castro tried to make something happen in the bottom of the ninth. He hit a double.
Castro scored when Ian Stewart singled. But it was to no avail. Cubs lost 5-0.
 Paul Maholm and Angela.
 Me and Paul Maholm.

Ryan Dempster is so so so nice.

Me and Carlos Marmol in a rare moment of kindness.
Oh, Raffle Ticket Dolis. You will come to love us.
 David DeJesus signed.
I need to talk about this picture for a few moments. Now, here's the thing: I know that I am probably not among the most beautiful girls on the planet. But I am not really this ugly in real life. Ian Stewart is obviously gorgeous. This is the only picture we have of the two of us, and it makes me bitter. Also, shortly after, Ian got the flu, and then I did. I refer to that as the Ian Stewart flu--he gave it to me.
Here's a blurry picture of mystery man again.
