Game #4, Tigers at White Sox, April 14, 2012

Here is where people get mad at me. I do not hate the White Sox. In fact, I really like them. I loved the White Sox first. I went to my first game in 1992, and Robin Ventura hit a home run, and that day I fell in love with baseball. The love affair continues, and I owe it to the Sox. Over the years, I have followed both Chicago teams, but certainly with more loyalty to the Cubs. I don't think you should have to choose one or the other. They rarely play each other, and when they do it rarely MATTERS in the great scheme of things who wins. Still, we live in a city where people will stab each other over these teams. Now that my all-time favorite player is back as the Sox manager, I decided to pay more attention to these boys. But no matter what, I go to Sox park to meet the visiting team. It's a great park for that, much better than Wrigs (but only in that respect!).

I got to the game late for me, and as soon as I got to the parking lot, who was walking up but Prince Fielder! And his adorable mini-me.

This was a really awesome moment for me to meet Prince Fielder. He is my friend Stefanie's favorite player (we went to a LOT of Milwaukee games together).
I always enjoy catching up with Ed Farmer and hearing about his Notre Dame days.
My sister Veronica, a die-hard Sox fan, was with me and she also enjoyed Ed.
I was super excited to meet Jose Valverde. I had never met him before.
Darrin Jackson is easily the best dressed commentator in the game. So handsome.
 Veronica enjoys him too.
The Sox started doing this really cool visual lineup this year. I absolutely love it.
 There's baby Prince!
I try to go to Opening Weekend every year, but rarely Opening Day. The Sox had opened the day before.
Miguel Cabrera at his new spot at third.

ARGDHGIDD there he is! Robin Ventura. I had purposely purchased seats close to the dugout but the usher was quote the stickler and wouldn't let me near Robin.

I guess his hands were cold.
A.J. sat out this game, which broke my sister Veronica's heart.

Paul and Robin are clearly close friends.

 Jake Peavey.
Gavin Floyd and Tyler Flowers making their way back from warmups.

Gavin.

 Miggy
Adam Dunn. We were all looking forward to new possibilities from him this year.
 Prince
Still hard to get used to Delmon Young in a Tigers uniform after so many years of cheering him on as a Twin.
Alexei Ramirez homered in the second to give the Sox an early 1-0 lead.
 The great Harold Baines

 Yep.
Tyler Flowers homered in the fifth, putting the Sox up 2-0.
Gordon almost got hit by the ball.
Look at that beautiful head of hair.
Tyler is BFF with the ump.
 Prince.
Alex Avila took a few painful hits. This is one of them.

 Jesse Crain came in.
 Another hit.
 Because he's amazing...
De Aza tripled and the Sox were up 4-0 in the 7th.
Yay for Brent Lillibridge entering the game!
Babyface Brennan Bosch hot a homer to finally put the Tigers on the board.
So Konerko homered back. Sox up 5-1.

Matt Thornton came in to finish it.
The Konerko countdown to 400 home runs was going strong.
 Sox win, 5-1.
After the game, I met Hector Santiago.
 So did my sister.
