This day was a great victory for us. LaHomer is a shy guy. I asked him for a photo one day and he said, I really can't do that. SO the last couple days at the Brewers games I said, LaHomer, whenever you are ready for your photo, so are we! I didn't think he'd actually pose.
But this game he came over and said, Hey, do you guys still want a photo? What a guy.
Here's everything Dale needs to get through the game.
When the National Anthem started, a bunch of guys weren't ready and the all came bounding up the steps so they wouldn't get in trouble. I clearly remember James Russell being late because when he ran up, his hair bounced.
Marmol is not worried.
Joe Mather singled in the second.
But then Ian Stewart, who had been having a pretty decent series, struck out.
Here's Ryan Braun chatting with an umpire. He's probably apologizing for an emotional first inning at bat, where he threw his bat and helmet.
Here's the bullpen, counting their money.
Matt Garza tried to help himself out with this double in the third.
Reed Johnson reached on an infield single that advanced Garza to third. But they were both stranded.
Seriously, they're like 20 years old and millionaires, and this is their life.
In the bottom of the fourth, Aoki homered, putting the Brew Crew up 1-0. Then Braun singled. But he didn't score.
Here's Koye Hill.
We have been Casey Coleman fans for a while. We wanted to see him pitch.
James Russell warms.
Okay, see that blurry white sunglasses-wearing blonde man? That's Guy Fieri of the Food Network! At the Miller Park patio, they have unique creations every year that are sponsored by the Food Network, and so the FN people make surprise visits to see how the food's turning out.
Rich people.
Oh yeah! We happened to be sitting by Darwin Barney's brother!
Just kidding. But he looks a lot like him.
Back to the game--Corey Hart doubled in the sixth and George Kottaras singled him home to put the Brewers up 2-0.
In the top of the seventh, Jeff Baker walked. Then Joe Mather grounded into a fielder's choice, but Baker was safe at second, thanks to a Cody Ransom error.Baker advanced to third on a double play hit by Stewart. Koye Hill came in and doubled, driving in Baker and putting the Cubs on the board, 2-1 Brewers.
DeJesus pinch-hit for Garza and was hit by a pitch. But he was stranded.
Then Shawn Camp pitched a scoreless seventh. In the top of the eighth, Soriano singled and LaHomer homered, and the Cubs were up 3-2.
James Russell came in to relieve in the eighth and no one scored but when he left the game, Aoki was on first.
Then Manny Corpas came in later in the eighth. Gomez sacrificed to advance Aoki to second.
Corey Hart hit a double to drive in Aoki.
Aramis Ramirez walked and we got out of the inning tied at 3.
John Axford came in to pitch the ninth. He was in fine form.
The Cubs waited to score.
Marmol was hopeful. But that didn't happen. The Brewers won 4-3 in the bottom of the tenth on an Aoki homer off Casey Coleman. So I guess we did get to see Coleman pitch.
